Amy Colvin Mustafa is the Executive Director of NovakTalks. Shecompleted a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in General Studies in Business and a minor in Recreation from Bowling Green State University as well as a Master of Science Degree in College Student Personnel from the University of Tennessee. She is a member of Alpha Chi Omega
Amy has professional experience working in higher education and non-profit settings. Her on campus experience includes working with fraternity and sorority life, new student orientation, first year experience, general student organizations, all campus programming, and wellness programming. Additionally, Amy has worked as a professional staff at the national fraternity level focused on leadership development, member education, global service, individual member accountability, and risk management/collective chapter accountability. During her time working at the national fraternity level, Amy, in partnership with staff and volunteers, coordinated the change of the organization’s risk management philosophy and prevention plan to support a healthy decision making framework.
Amy has presented on various topics including changing culture and behavior, organizational conduct, membership reviews, and is a trained facilitator for the Alcohol Skills Training Program (ASTP). She has written on the topic of risk management for the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors’ electronic newsletter, Essentials; Alpha Chi Omega’s quarterly magazine, The Lyre; and the Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values’ quarterly magazine, Connections. She has successfully facilitated national leadership programs for Alpha Chi Omega, Beta Theta Pi Fraternity, Delta Chi Fraternity, and the North American Interfraternity Conference. Amy has also been a long time volunteer for the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors receiving the Shelly S. Sutherland Outstanding Volunteer Award in 2012.
